In trying to decide between a number of options for my own kids, I realized it might be helpful to GAP readers to have this information too. Please leave a comment below if your child has attended local dance classes, which programs have you tried, what age/level/style of dance, and what was your experience? Also, if your organization offers dance classes that you'd like included on our list, please comment as well.

Wissahickon Dance Academy. Very professional, great with kids. So convenient.
The Pointe Dance Studio in Germantown and Philadanco's dance school are both top notch.
The Little Treehouse is great for the little ones.
We are very fond of the Philadelphia Dance Theatre. It's right on the campus of New Covenant, in between Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill. The dancers there have gone on to do big things, but they are wonderful with children too.

Cannaan Conservatoy Arts Ministry on Pulaski Avenue located in Germantown. Although, it is a startup, the children love it!
