This post will be short and sweet. Thanks to some reader feedback, we've added several new schools to the open house list: Jenks, Greenwoods Charter, Crefeld, and Our Mother of Consolation. If you know of more schools to add, please send them our way... the more the merrier!

If you're looking for private schools, start early! Getting them in the door for preschool can be a help later on, even if it's not explicitly guaranteed.
Another option that could be added to your list is Frankford Friends School at 1500 Orthodox Street. I know that some of the staff and students live in the Mount Airy area. My children (2nd and 5th grades) go there and we couldn't be happier. It is a wonderful school with small class sizes and caring teachers. Their first open house is on October 16th at 11am.
