It's hard to believe that the leaves are falling already. There are still 3 weeks of summer, but fall is coming fast. The cooler air, the crunching leaves - what a great time to be outside!
Carpenter's Woods in West Mt. Airy is a great spot to go walking with kids. With dirt and rocky trails, it's much easier to leave the stroller at home. It's a great, safe place to let kids of all ages run. Plenty to explore with stumps, rocks, roots, creek, and wildlife.
Part of Fairmount Park, Carpenter's Woods is located in West Mt. Airy with an entrance at Sedgwick and Sherman. Street parking is plentiful nearby. Just a couple blocks from the Carpenter and Greene business district, stop by Weaver's Way Co-op beforehand for a snack to take along or head over to High Point Cafe afterwards for a treat!
